A native's guide for dressing in the rain
Getting wet in Bergen? Fear not, we have the advice you need.
Story by Tom Henrik Monsen
Friday looks like it’s going to be a wet race day in Bergen. So how to stay dry while watching your favorite cyclists?
First of all, you have to have the right equipment.
On top there are several options, for example the local specialty, the “Sydvest”. A waterproof rain-cap with ear-flaps. Guaranteed to keep your head warm and dry.
An umbrella will also do the trick, but might not be sufficient enough if it’s windy. But keep in mind, that an umbrella is obstructing the view of your fellow spectators.
A wind-resistant and water-proof jacket is also necessary in the wind and rain that Bergen is known for. If you have adequate clothing underneath, a thin rain-jacket or a rain-poncho will do the trick.
And of-course some water-resistant shoes is good for keeping your feet happy and dry.
If you have all this, you are ready to cheer for the next world champion here in Bergen.
