Welcome to Bergen!
Two months before the opening ceremony on Torgallmenningen, the programme takes shape. Most of the volunteers are in place and we are looking forward to welcoming you to the 2017 UCI Road World Championships, Bergen.
The schools and nursery schools are practising their cheers. With a little more than two months to go – the city of Bergen has started the city dressing of the event. It will be visible that Bergen is a proud host!

Accessible for all
The UCI Road World Championships in Bergen will be accessible. Accessibility for the public has been important in planning the courses. You can experience the highlights, close to the courses and the finish line. More than 2000 guests have already booked tickets to dedicated hospitality areas. Our event partner, Possibility, can help to create an unforgettable hospitality experience for you and your guests. Buy tickets.
We are completely depended on the volunteers. We have 1600 volunteers in place, and they will help us in making the 2017 UCI Road World Championships an unforgettable event. We are now working on finding the right people for the right tasks. Soon all the volunteers will receive their work schedule.
Everyone is cycling
160 cycle ambassadors in schools and nursery schools have started preparing for the event. The students have “adopted” a nation which they will follow closely before and during the event. The schools get access to an educational programme, with cycling related issues in several subjects. A National public health campaign aims to get the Norwegians to use their bikes more frequently. 4500 children have so far participated in the “Cycling for all”-programme. Due to increased funding from the government the program has expanded, and more children have had the opportunity to participate in the quality based education programme. Also, the elderly are preparing for the event. Motiech presents “Road World for elderly”. When Alexander Kristoff, Peter Sagan and the other bike stars are fighting for the UCI Road World Champion title, the nursing homes and day centers across Europe will have their own fight. “Road Worlds for elderly" is a competition, with winners only.
